Christmas Day

We had a great, quite Christmas...the boys racked up, as usual and we celebrated the birth of Christ as a family. We did miss our Louisiana people very much!

Merry Christmas!!!

This is the first time since we moved to Houston that we stayed here for Christmas. On the way to church tonight, the boys all decided it wasn't Christmas if we weren't in Louisiana............SO, I guess that means we will be traveling from here on out...So much for starting our own tradition! We had a nice Christmas Eve...We went to 5pm Mass, went out to eat, got a movie and then opened presents. Drew is so excited for Santa to pass...I hope Santa can stay up longer than Drew!!!

I'm wishing all My Jefferies and Porche families a VERY Merry Christmas...Joe and I love you soooo much!

Children's Museum

What a day we had on Tuesday. Callie and I took Drew, Mollie, and Trenton to the Children's Museum. It was such a learning experience. Callie and I decided next time we go, we aren't taking the kids, so we can have more fun!

Public Housing

I can cook anything, but when it comes to baking, I SUCK! I can't even put together a pre-baked Gingerbread House....Joe, Drew, and I tried to be crafty and get into the Christmas spirit tonight by buying a kit. Our house had MAJOR foundation issues. It looked like a POST KATRINA house! As Drew tried to decorate the roof, it kept sliding down the wall. He kept yelling, "Call the roofing contractors!"

Oh well, Drew enjoyed it and the Lasagna I made for dinner was out of this world, so that made up for it.

Easy does it...Still patient

Oh screw it...I'm hungry

Last year, my mom divided up her Christmas village into three giving me, Steph, and Seth each a portion. I promised her I would post a picture of it. I had my friend's son over here the other day...He was mesmerized by one of them...He kept yelling, "GEE...the's going in the tunnel...the tunnel...the tunnel...the train is in the tunnel!" It's Drew's favorite part of Christmas! I am missing two of my villagers thanks to my friend's daughter Mollie and my other friend's niece, Sophia....they each ate one!

Catching up!

Things have really slowed down. Today, I actually got to come home when the bell rang. I've not gotten to do that since NEVER!

The boys are doing great....I'm going to try and get them together for a Christmas picture soon, but they are never home at the same time, except for when it's late and I'm too tired to get the camera out!

Spencer has straight A's on his progress report and I "think" so does Mitchell. Spencer's school ring will be coming in next week. I can't believe he will be graduating from high school next year. Looks like he will be headed to LSU-A. They have a great Nursing program. His best friend also wants to go there. He is studying really hard to score high enough on SAT and ACT to have out of state tuition waived.

Drew is getting ready for his first reconciliation....He and Mitchell have both taken up playing the drums. Mitchell is REALLY getting good. Santa is bringing Mitchell a nice set of drums. He is a very talented fella...He will have to beat the girls off with a stick!

My cheerleaders competed last weekend and got 4th place....They did so much better than they were scored...We were penalized for an illegal flip in a stunt, but it was difficult and they nailed it!

I was doing a RED LIPSTICK check - I told them to get against the wall, and this is what they did! I get so much respect!

A B P on J O E

OK, GOD I wish I had pictures of this, but I don't....Here's the story.

Saturday, Joe went to pick up Drew at a neighbors house down the street. He noticed a two year old wandering the street unsupervised and it scared him.....He pulled up to the little boy and asked, "Where is your mommy?"...The little boy didn't answer. Joe asked, "Where do you live?" The little boy responded, "TEXAS!" Joe drove down the street, picked up Drew and still noticed the toddler in the middle of the street just walking. He pulled along side the child again.....As he did, he saw a women run out of a house with a frantic look on her face. When she saw Joe's car and Joe talking to her baby, She yelled at Her son, "RUN.....RUN.....RUN" She thought Joe, my loveable sweet husband was trying to abduct this boy.

Joe met up with her, as she was running down the street like a crazy women. He told her he lived down the street and noticed him alone wandering the street. The women broke down in tears.....Come to find out......The husband went for a walk and left the front door open.....Can you say DOG HOUSE? Gosh I wish I would have been there!

We Gave Thanks

We had a wonderful week off during Thanksgiving. My parents came to visit and stayed for a week. The boys enjoyed having them all to themselves. My mom and I shopped and shopped and shopped. She was very excited that there were TWO HOBBY LOBBY stores within 15 minutes of my house. I have been to those two Hobby Lobby stores more in the last week than I count. I am so thankful for the holiday season upon us. Thankful that my mom is cancer free for 6 years. Thankful my dad has not had another stroke. Thankful that Joe's dad is recouperating from his knee surgery and doing well. Thankful for health and happiness for my boys. Thankful that we are all employed in these tough times. I'm thankful that my brother is strong and surrounded by people who love him! He and his children will be fine! Joe and I are so grateful that we have three wonderful boys that are strong in their faith and strong in their will to succeed. We are lucky! The only picture I took is of Drew setting the table. He insisted on eating in the formal dining room. We have NEVER eaten in that room, so we decided to give it a whirl. Drew was very excited to set the table and serve us pie!

One last thing I am grateful for........EARPLUGS AND A THIRD GARAGE! Mitchell started playing the drums and he is getting pretty good. He put together a band and guess where they practice??? You guessed it....OUR HOUSE. They cleaned out the third garage and created a "Man Cave" (their word, not mine). Their cave is equipped with Drums, Guitars, Amps, and a couch...Nice place for them to hangout. I'm sure our Homeowner's Association will be notified shortly, but until then, enjoy his video!
