Headshot Day Today

Well today was our first taste of the “industry”.  We were to report to the Dakota Lofts at 9:00 am with pants, shoes, and a grooming kit.  The boys brought lots of their own clothes in fear of being put in something ugly.  (Thank GOD they did).

We spent the ENTIRE day in hair, makeup, and wardrobe changes.  The photographers took pictures of the boys for their headshots that will be seen by the agents when they audition for them in May.  I saw some of the proofs, and OMG, they are gorgeous and that’s not just a MOMMA talking!  They REALLY are great pictures!

When God blessed me with three wonderful boys, I never thought I would have a day where we spent the day in hair and makeup, but…you NEVER know!

Here are a few of the pics I snapped today!

Here she is trying to fix his black eye from wrestling!  Thank gosh for concealer!

This Place is a NUTHOUSE

Every night Drew challenges Joe to a title match.  My beautiful new bedding is turned into a wrestling deathtrap for Drew’s latest victim.  I’m sorry, his name isn’t Drew….We have been asked to call him by his WWE name, “Mr. Perfect”.

Here are pictures from tonight’s match with “Mr. Perfect Sr.” and “Mr. Perfect Jr.”

It’s Sew Addictive

Now that I’ve learned how to make the pillowcase dresses, I’ve become a little obsessed.  I made two Thursday, two yesterday, and four today.

I always see a family at church that takes up the entire pew.  They have seven children.  I always wonder how difficult it is to feed and dress seven kids.  I can tell they all wear hand-me-downs.  The boys have homemade haircuts (buzz), and the girls all have long hair.  What a sacrifice.

Last night in bed Joe and I were trying to figure out how many of the 7 were girls. I told him I was going to make those girls dresses.  He said, “What are you going to do, randomly walk up to her and tell her you are going to sew her some clothes?”  I said, “Yep”.  This morning, that’s exactly what I did and she was moved to tears.

I’m pretty pleased at how the dresses turned out.

I also made another one for my friend, Kim’s little girl.

I made these for my friends neighbor.

A Great Visit

My parents came to spend 5 days with us to catch the boys in action.  While they were here, they got to see the boys wrestle….ALOT.

On Friday, I got the flu (wink wink) and was unable to go to work.  SOOOOO, my mom and I were forced to go shopping.  3 dresses, 2 pair of pants, a jacket, a shirt, and a pair of boots later, and I don’t think Macy's will ever be the same!

Wednesday night we had a dual against Creek.  It was also Senior night.  It’s hard to believe Spencer only has a few months left of school…It’s really starting to hit me!

This is a picture of the seniors and their coach.  If you look in the upper right hand corner, you can see Spencer’s forehead!

IMG_2247They called each senior wrestler and their parents got to go down on the gym floor and we were all recognized.  It was neat.  I’ve been to hundreds of these things as a cheer coach, but it was different when it’s your own child.  Unfortunately, Joe was out of town! IMG_2246IMG_2251

Mitchell didn’t have an opponent, so he won by forfeit!  CONGRATS MITCH!  haha IMG_2259Spencer thinking about his game plan!    IMG_2249

We spent the ENTIRE day at the tournament on Saturday.  Spencer lost his first match, won the next two, and lost his forth.  He was wrestling in the 145lb weight class.  The district tournament will be starting in a couple weeks and he will be wrestling at 140lb!

Mitchell wasn’t so lucky.  He normally wrestles in the 103 weight class.  His coach put him in the 119 class and he was eliminated after his second match.  He will be competing in the 103 weight class for district.  He told me today, “for the sake of his wrestling career, NO MORE KING CAKE!

We GIGed EM’

I was lucky enough to get to watch the Cotton Bowl with two of my good friends.  Unfortunately, they are Aggies, but I love them anyway!  Thinking back, all of my friends around here are Aggies except for a few.

I received many texts during the first quarter from my current principal, my former principal, and some Aggie coaches….All was quite when our defense (Kelvin & Peterson) shut them down!

My friend, Liz, made these awesome cupcakes.

Of course, girls have to pose with the cupcakes.IMG_2240 IMG_2241

Joe and Jake wanted in on the cupcake action too!IMG_2242

Doucie has a project

When my mom comes to visit, Drew has a few chores for her.  He wants some wrestling pants and a wrestling mask.

He is OBSESSED with WWE.  You better watch out around here.  You can be sitting on the couch, minding your own business and a 50 lb maniac will come around the corner and RKO you!  I’m bruised from  head to toe.  My king sized bed has become a wrestling ring and our pillows have become “The Miz” and “John Cena”.

Here is his homemade mask (Don’t tell Spencer that he no longer has a beanie!)  Notice his batting gloves!  haha

The Boys and Clear Brook win another one!

We had a dual tonight at Clear Springs High School and both boys won their match by pin.

Mitchell’s Match

Spencer’s Match

Pop and Doucie will be here next week to watch the Creek match and Falls tournament.  I’m sure my mom and I will slip in some shopping while they are here too!
