Something in the Air

It’s nice to come home from work at a decent hour…have supper cooked (Thanks to a crockpot)!  Yummy corned beef!

Then the fun begins…Now that the weather is so nice, we get to enjoy the pool!

Spencer, trying to tan for prom!

Drew splashing EVERYTHING!

Joe, always in the garage!

Mitch – getting back into real clothes!

Even Beignet enjoys the weather and water!

I look angry here, but am really thrilled to be outside with the fellas!

A Prequel to Summer

We celebrated Joe’s birthday with our two favorite things……crawfish and friends.

I can’t wait for summer.  I’m never a complainer about going to work, but this year has been a tough one with so many cut backs.  It will be nice to have some time off to go to Louisiana and Alabama and chill with the Porche, Jefferies, and Williams families!

Joe’s birthday present was new cushions for the lawn furniture. (haha)  He has been begging me for new cushions so I surprised him! :)

Drew and his friends jumping in for a swim…Too cold for me!

Mark & Luis watching the boys torture the poor crawfish!

Kim – relaxing poolside

Luis – practicing wrestling moves on the boys

Another Sewing Burst of Energy

After a chaotic week of cheerleading tryouts..(only 1 mom is coming after me on Monday), I decided to decompress on Saturday and tackle some pants!  My friend has a little girl and I’m so glad that she lets me practice on her.  Unfortunately, she will get my mistakes, Fortunately, when I learn, she will get some nice stuff too.

The little dresses and matching pants and ruffles are really “in” right now with the new moms.  Quite frankly, it reminds me of my youth in the 70’s, but that’s neither here nor there!

Here is my first attempt with scrap material.

It was a “son of a bitch” to sew those ruffles on the bottom of those pants!  I wish my mom were here to help me.  Being self taught and not knowing how to read a pattern is no fun!

My second attempt was a lot easier.  I sewed the ruffles on BEFORE I sewed up the pants….A duh moment to beginners.  Don’t laugh at me, Junelle!

Painting with a Twist

My principal celebrated her birthday with a group of us at a painting party.  I was hesitant b/c I can’t draw a straight line.  She assured me that our end product would be something we could hang in our house.  It was fun spending the afternoon with a different group of ladies!

One of our Assistant Principals, Sharon.  Hers came our really nice!

My principal, Michelle, hard at work!

I really tried!

Me and Sharon – The more wine the better the paintings became!

The group shot!

Another Wrestler in the Jefferies Family!

The big boys have enjoyed wrestling so much that Drew has decided to follow in their footsteps.  A couple of coaches at area high schools have started a club wrestling organization and Mitchell wanted to join to keep in shape for off season.  They have an age group for Drew.

Tonight was his first class.  He is a natural!  He’s so excited to get his singlet and shoes!  He’s ready for a tournament!
