The Tree

I went with a theme this year.  Our entire tree is candy canes/peppermints.  The picture doesn’t do it justice.  It really looks pretty in real life!  You better believe Drew is keeping an accurate inventory of everything under the tree too!

We decided to stay in Friendswood for Turkey Day and not go home.  It was a very relaxing day of football and food.  We invited Drew’s friend’s parents over for lunch and it was wonderful.  I warned them that we don’t heat traditional Thanksgiving food and that we “Cajunized” our dinner.  They reminded me that they were from Costa Rica and they didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving, so it didn’t matter to them anyway!  It was a great day!

On any given day, this is what you will find on my couch!

Drew was excited to have “his” friends over, so he insisted on setting the table!

I love me some Joe!

And where there is Joe and Me, Drew is never far behind!

About 9, Drew and I decided to head to Walmart for Black Friday sales that started at 10 pm.   Talk about commotion!  When we left there, he said “Mom, I’m just glad we got outta there alive!”  We then went to Kohls and waited in line for some items I HAD TO HAVE on my Christmas list for family members.  It was nice that we had some Christmas Carolers until they started preaching to us to find Jesus….One of them started talking about Masturbation and Fornication…I would cringe every time they said it b/c Drew was with me.  There were over 100 people waiting in line not saying a word to these idiots.  After about the 50th Fornication word, I got up and told him to ZIP IT..My son was there and he was NOT a sinner and wasn’t aware of those words and basically needed to “Shut the Fornication UP!”…The people in line started clapping for me.  Right after that, a security officer told me he would handle it and finally kicked them off the premises.

We then had a few cutters in line and the ladies behind me asked me to tell them something.  I guess b/c I had already told the other guys where to get off.  I told them it was there turn.  My friend, Liz, told them to move it to the back and they cussed her out….Talk about Christmas spirit.  We then got another visit from the security officer!  He knew us by name before the doors opened, but Drew and I got our goodies and all is good!

We couldn’t be prouder

Joe is at his annual Thanksgiving tradeshow in Austin, so me and Drew (Spencer is working) headed off to Mitchell’s Quad this morning.  We watched him win by points his first match and win by PIN his second match!  So proud of him.  Pictures you ask?  DUH!!!  Enjoy Daddy!

Another Victory

It NEVER Gets old!  I borrowed a good lens from the Photo Journalism teacher and put it on my camera to get these shots!  Mitch won his match and so did his school.  He has a tournament Saturday and one next week!  So grandparents, beware, there will be more pictures to come!

And there’s the PIN – He’s looking at the ref wondering how long he is going to have to wait until he calls it!

Wrasslin has started

Mitchell had his first “Tri” meet tonight.  There was nobody from Episcopal in his weight class, so he won by forfeit.  He wrestled in the 120 lb class as an exhibition and pinned the guy!

He wasn’t so lucky during his second match.  He was overpowered and lost by points.  I can’t wait to watch him flourish this year.

Fall Cleaning

We had a FALL cleaning FRENZY today at the Jefferies house.  It’s highly doubtful I will be able to move tomorrow.  While my house is immaculate, I wanted to document it.  It may never be this clean again!  It’s so beautiful when it’s clean!
