Catching Up

I haven’t been very good at blogging lately b/c we haven’t really done anything blogworthy.  Our typical day works like this:

I wake up, start getting dressed, get Drew up, he gets in tub.

Mitch wakes up, dresses and we dart out the door yelling we love everyone and then speed down 528.

Spencer comes in around 1 a.m. from BJs (when he closes).  He gets up, goes to class then goes to work. I don’t see him but every 2-3 days and we live in the same house.

I get home from school, start dinner and Drew follows me around until bedtime.  He has practice on Tuesday and Thursday.  Joe usually brings him and drops off/picks up Mitch from gym.  Joe stops working around 5 and heads out to the garage for his nightly cigar.  I pick up the house and our routine starts all over again the next day.  You see??? Nothing exciting.

Sometimes there are a few things extra we do.  Last week I had my LAST EVER cheer banquet.  After 13 years of coaching, I have decided to hand over my spirit stick.  Here is a picture of me and some the senior girls at the banquet.  I will really miss this group of girls. I was gifted some very nice things by their parents.

At the banquet, there is a table set up for the seniors to display their baby pictures.  My funny seniors created this picture to display of me.  They think they are so funny!

Then, this week, Mitchell had his wrestling banquet and he won Sophomore Wrestler of the Year.  Joe and I are soooooooooooo proud of him.  Like you guys didn’t already know that!

I blogged earlier about my Tomato and cucumber plants and how excited I am about them.  I already have a rosemary plant.  I baked a rosemary/garlic/basil chicken the other night and it was delish.  It’s fun pulling stuff out of your yard and cooking it.  Joe almost “weeded” the garden for me…He was about to take out the BASIL!

We blog stalk this crazy couple on facebook whom I’m convinced both need to be medicated.  They break up every week and publicly air their laundry on facebook.  Joe and I find it quite amusing.  I got this text from him the other day which made me giggle!  Note all of our sarcasm?

Since the weather has been so nice, Joe and I have been gearing up for some crawfish boils we hope to have.  I love Easter season for many reasons, but the most selfish reason is that I get to indulge in crawfish.  We bought really nice cushions for our chairs and so far the dogs have stayed off of them.  Every time I see them sniff around them, I come screaming out of the house.  Would you want to sit on them if you saw me coming running after you with a knife in my hand?  I think not!

I won’t be able to move tomorrow

When Joe and I bought our new house, the yard had been very neglected.  The previous owners had moved out and the house had been vacant for a while.  Joe and I have slowly but surely been trying to kill the weeds and get the yard looking the way we want it.

My Dad taught me about tomatoes and cucumbers when I visited, so today, Drew and I worked in the yard from 10 a.m. until about 6:00 p.m.  We are WORN OUT!  The yard, however, looks great!

The Berry

I LOVE LOVE LOVE going home.  I love driving down Main Street.  I love eating Chili Dogs at Duffy’s  I love eating Snow Balls at Fremins.  I love shopping at Bi-Lo.  I love taking Drew to the 8 different locations of Dollar General.  I love being able to spend quality time with our families!

My mom had foot surgery and I wanted to be with her and my Dad.  Drew was packed two days before we left.  He always loves going home.  My mom’s surgery was Tuesday morning so we got to play a lot on Monday.  While her and my dad did pre-op work, I took the boys to the best chili dog place in the world and we gorged on homemade dogs and onion rings.

Mitch (aka wierdo, had to have coffee)

My mom and I headed down Main Street to shop.  I was so upset to learn that Party People Place was going out of business.  However, everything was half off.  Not sure when I will need a bag of animal noses, but you never nose!  haha

That’s the alligator nose.  I got the pig, horse, mouse, lion, toucan, and lots more.  My friend Brooke and I plan on having a party and make every guest wear a nose!

Of course I had to have a hat too!  Look behind me……….50% off people!  I could have spent days.  The one purchase I passed up was the LSU garden gnomes.  I regret that…Joe, however, DOES NOT!

In the afternoon, Drew would get kind of bored, so we broke out Mom and Dad’s bike.  Drew wasn’t very excited to ride a bike with a basket on it!  haha

The boys also climbed trees and rode Ashlyn’s dirt bike.  My brother bought her a dirt bike with training wheels.  It’s awesome!

The night before the surgery, my nephew came over and he and Mitchell jammed in the apartment.  Did I mention Mitchell brought his entire Drum set and all of his guitars?

I think Drew was getting a little jealous.  He told my mom, “I can play that!”  My mom said, “What can you play, Drew"?”  He said, “That Dulcimer, Doucie”  She said, “Yea right..OK”  She pulled it down from the wall and handed it to him.  Sure enough, he shocked us all.  I didn’t know he even knew what a Dulcimer was.  They just learned how to play them at his new school.

As my Mom rested, we also got a nice visit in from Joe’s side of the family.  It’s so hard to call myself a great aunt.  Each of our three nieces have children, so we have four great nieces and nephews.  YIKES that makes us sound so old!

The newest addition, Gracelynn

Mitchell and Camden played around too.  He reminds me so much of Drew.

The Rodeo

Last Saturday, Joe and I, along with our good friends Brooke, and Joel took Drew and his buddies to the rodeo.  Brooke and Joel also had a friend in from Louisiana, so we had a good ole time.

Here are the boys all ready to go!

Brooke was so excited to get her frozen cookie dough on a stick.  Infact, Joel tried to eat as many things as he could find on a stick.

More Soccer

Well we lost, and I know I should be sad, but three of the best/funniest things happened.

1.  Drew scored a goal….The only point his team scored.  I cropped the rest of the people out of the picture so you could see it better.  The smaller picture to the right is the original.  He came fast from the right side of the field and kicked it so hard, the goalie never saw it!

2.  His best friend, Luis (who was on the other team) scored two points…That’s how we lost.  Final score was 2-1.  Drew’s coach had him guarding/defending (IDK the lingo) #50 the whole game, so there are lots of pictures of them together.  I’ll post those after #3.

3. The 3rd funniest thing that happened at the game was a kid kicked the ball on the sidelines and guess where it went?  My poor unsuspecting husband!  HE SPILLED HIS STARBUCKS ALL OVER HIMSELF.  PRAISE JESUS he had just bought a pound of beans so they gave him that coffee for free, otherwise he would have really been upset.  I love him so much!

Here are a few action shots of our little Beckham and his Costa Rican sidekick.  They are such good friends and Joe and I really enjoy hanging with their parents too!

Gotta love the faces he makes while he plays.  He is so intent on getting that ball in that net.  Too bad Joe and I have no idea what is going on!

The rest of the pics are mostly of Drew and Luis.
